Katie & Joel’s Elopement to Queenstown

Nov 17, 2020

11th October 2020

Katie organised a surprise elopement for Joel, who had absolutely no idea what was planned for the weekend, he didn’t even know he was going to Queenstown. Katie had her wedding dress couriered to our studio so as not to rouse suspicion, and convinced Joel to bring a smart suit. With their original wedding plans being cancelled due to Covid-19, and Katie’s family being in Australia. Their wedding plans were up in the air, and an elopement was a magical and romantic choice.

The weather was a temperamental day in Queenstown with all the season being thrown in on one day. But that in no way put a dampener on the day, with massive smiles they got married on the top of a mountain with a dramatic sky line behind them. There was so many smiles and the love between them, it was radiating around them.

Katie’s bouquet was a symbol of both their heritage, tulips to identify his family in the Netherlands, protea & eucalyptus leaves from Australia for hers.
