Dan photographed our Queenstown wedding at Walter Peak and did it admirably braving hail, rain and sunny spells as well as multiple changes in location including a small karaoke bar, the pier and the boat itself.

Dan is an awesome photographer and an awesome person.
We had to change our date of our shoot and he was extremely accommodating and nice about it. I am also an avid photographer and looking at his portfolio, I was immediately drawn to his style of photography.
Our engagement shoot photos turned out amazing as well. He was willing to get down and dirty just to get the best shot he can. He is also such a kind person, I remembered when he checked in on me periodically to make sure I was not nervous for the proposal. He was also in on the surprise engagement and was very participative and helpful. During the shoot, he made me and my fiancée feel extremely at ease, and I am confident that many others who work with him will feel the same. He also delivered our photos really quickly and well processed in his style of photography.
I highly recommend Dan for anyone looking for a photographer with a great skills, a creative eye as well as someone that can make you and your partner feel comfortable in a photoshoot. When we met him, we immediately clicked with him. He’s a really easy-going, funny guy but very professional at the same time.

"Simply an amazing photographer."
Me and my now wife were looking for a great photographer for our wedding in Queenstown (which is an AMAZING place to have your wedding by the way!), someone who could capture the special moments as well as incorporate the breathtaking scenery of Queenstown. We looked up basically all the photographers in Queenstown – scrutinised through all their online portfolios and I was immediately drawn to Dan’s photos. It had a simple spontaneity to it that perfectly captured the emotions, moment as well as the amazing scenery. He had a great eye for angles and compositions – and after chatting him with over e-mail several times decided he was our guy!
In addition to having him for our wedding day, we also flew down for a quick pre-wedding shoot in Queenstown. He made the most fantastic shots out of seemingly ordinary backdrops – the results were jaw dropping to say the least! Our wedding photos were better than we could have imagined as well – I honestly wasn’t sure how he could have managed to take photos from so many angles in such a short time. You would have thought he was a ninja! Despite the ceremony only being about 15 minutes long – Dan managed to capture all the right moments as well as get various close-ups as well as wide shots to capture the whole ceremony in great detail.
On his suggestion, we made a trip up to Bayonet Peak via helicopter and it was honestly the one of the best decisions we could have made. The views from the top were amazing and our first helicopter ride was one of highlights of the wedding itself. Dan unsurprisingly managed to get really great shots from there – he would run a good 500m on a rocky ledge to get the perfect shot for us.
I can’t recommend him enough – as a wedding photographer, Dan is truly the man. A great guy to talk to, friendly and offers great advice on what we should do.

Dan is just incredible! He captured our wedding day in December 2016 and the photos were with us within 2 weeks. They were amazing!
The feedback from our friends and family, not only about the incredible photos, but also about how Dan interacted with everyone on the day, has been fantastic.
He’s easy to deal with (we organised our wedding remotely from London), creative/artistic and everything a photographer should be, but most importantly he asks what you want and he listens.

"The photos are stunning"
My husband and I had Dan take the photos at our wedding. He made the arrangements super easy for us – and helped me surprise my new husband on the day, with a helicopter trip for our location photos.
We met Dan a year ahead of our wedding at his studio to discuss options. Then we stayed in touch up until the day. Dan helped make the day relaxing and fun. I didn’t feel like the camera was in our faces or that it was awkward (even though I hate having my photo taken usually).
It was great to get a selection of photos quite soon after the wedding, and amazing to look through the full file of photos when we received them. Everything was on time, as Dan had earlier advised.
The photos are stunning, and Dan made sure we got some specific ones we really wanted, as well as full coverage of our day. We highly recommend Dan and 222 Photographic Studios.
